Perth Bahá’í Community

The Bahá’í Community of Perth is working towards a goal which is common to all Bahá’ís around the world – the spiritual transformation of society, creating an “organic unity between the inner and outer realities of man”. It is only through the spiritual transformation and upliftment of each individual, Bahá’ís believe, that humanity will inevitably achieve unity and “carry forward an ever-advancing civilisation” that Bahá’u’lláh, Founder of the Bahá’í Faith, says is our birthright as human beings. Through their daily lives and actions, Bahá’ís around the world are sowing and tending the seeds for this unfolding civilisation, whose cornerstone is the conviction in the essential oneness of humanity.

The well-being of mankind, its peace and security are unattainable unless and until its unity is firmly established
Bahá’í Writings, Bahá’u’lláh

At this point in history, it is apparent that humanity cannot progress until the people of the world are united. The Bahá’í community hopes to demonstrate, through its whole-hearted practise of the principle “unity in diversity”, that such a unity amongst people of differing race, religious background and social status is indeed very much possible.

Like Bahá’í communities in other parts of the world, Perth Bahá’í community is also working to infuse the spirit of unity into the community at large, by engaging in various activities that will enhance the spiritual transformation of its people. Many Bahá’í activities focus around the ongoing and continual process of spiritual education, beginning with Classes for Children, and later moving to Study Circles for youth and adults. Such a spiritual education helps individuals to acquire the knowledge, spiritual insights and skills necessary to walk a path of service to humanity and to be effective peace-makers in the world. The human spirit is also nourished and cultivated through prayer and communion with God at Devotional Gatherings.

These and other activities are open to people of all backgrounds and walks of life, as they are for the benefit of all. You are welcome to join us in any of these activities, to experience the Bahá’í community life first hand and to walk with us on a spiritual path of service to humanity.
